Job summary

The Gill Corporation seeks a Maintenance Lead in California to install, maintain, repair, and rebuild complex machine tools and plant equipment. You will operate lathes, drill presses, grinders, and other metalworking tools, while supervising on the 2nd and 3rd shifts.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting equipment, replacing worn parts, and ensuring safe handling and disposal of hazardous substances. DOD ITAR considerations and equal opportunity employment are noted.

Qualifications

Must have a high school diploma, GED or equivalency.
10 years of related experience.
Specialized experience with boilers, hydraulics and plumbing.
Strong decision-making skills
Valid California Driver's License with acceptable driving record.
Must be able to drive a forklift, cherry picker (boom lift), and scissor lift.

Responsibilities

Disassembles problem equipment and determines extent of repairs necessary.
Repairs, refits or replaces worn or defective parts.
Troubleshoot various plant equipment and systems.
Installs new plant equipment under engineering supervision.
Observes mechanical devices in operation and locates causes of trouble.
Inspects parts for dimensional changes and quality.
Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools.
Manage or participate in handling, storage and disposal of hazardous substances or hazardous waste.
