Job summary

Gillig is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician in Livermore, CA to troubleshoot electrical systems, perform preventive maintenance, and repair manufacturing equipment. You will work with PLCs, VFDs, conveyors, and heavy machinery to keep the plant productive.

The role requires reading electrical/mechanical prints and manuals, installing automation components, and ensuring safety standards are met; a strong toolset is essential for day-to-day upkeep and urgent repairs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3–5 years maintenance experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
• Strong ability in electrical maintenance, including 3-phase motors, variable frequency drives, controls, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to read mechanical and electrical prints, diagrams, and repair manuals.
• Proficient with power tools.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair processing/manufacturing equipment (air compressors, conveyors, motors, tools, gear boxes).
• Read and interpret mechanical/electrical prints and diagrams.
• Work with PLCs, VFDs, transformers, relays, HMIs in a manufacturing setting.
• Install and repair automated machinery; handle pneumatic/hydraulic systems.
