Job summary

GILLIG in Livermore, California is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician (Journeyperson). The role covers troubleshooting electrical systems, performing preventive maintenance, and repairing manufacturing equipment including PLCs, VFDs, conveyors, and motors.

You will read mechanical and electrical diagrams, work with Proximity Switches and HMIs, install and service automated machinery, and operate lifts and material handling equipment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Strong electrical maintenance and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read electrical/mechanical diagrams and repair manuals.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and PLC-related issues.
• Perform day-to-day preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment.
• Repair conveyors, motors, air compressors, and gear boxes.
• Install, maintain, and repair automated machinery (VFDs, PLCs, HMIs).
• Read diagrams and technical repair manuals to diagnose problems.
• Operate lifts and material-handling equipment.
• Follow safety policies and maintain a safe work environment.
