Job summary

The Gill Corporation in El Monte, CA is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to repair and maintain machinery, engines, motors, conveyors and other production equipment on the 3rd shift. You will inspect, adjust, repair or replace faulty parts and operate metalworking tools as needed to keep line downtime to a minimum.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or GED, at least five years of related experience, and the ability to lift 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years’ related experience.
• English reading and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to lift, push and pull 50 lbs.
• Valid California Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
• Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections; inspects used parts for changes in dimensional requirements.
• Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
• Repairs or replaces defective parts; installs special functional and structural parts; lubricates and cleans parts.
• Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
• Must be able to work any shift (1, 2 or 3) and weekends as assigned.
