Job summary

Barry Callebaut Group seeks a Maintenance Lead to oversee a shift of technicians, drive maintenance excellence, and coordinate with production, planning and quality teams. You will champion process improvements and mentor staff to enhance safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance.

The role reports to the Maintenance Manager and requires strong hands-on maintenance expertise, extensive CMMS experience, and a commitment to food safety standards. This position is based at our Chicago facility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with an accredited apprenticeship or equivalent in industrial maintenance.
• Minimum 8 years in industrial manufacturing maintenance; food industry preferred.
• Experience with CMMS software; Maximo knowledge preferred.
• Forklift certification preferred.
• Must meet HACCP, GMP, OSHA regulations.
• Ability to read manuals and schematics; strong troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead a shift of Maintenance Technicians and prioritize workload.
• Collaborate with production, planning, quality and other teams.
• Drive process improvement initiatives for the maintenance team.
• Coach and train technicians; ensure safety, quality, delivery and cost goals.
• Manage emergency repairs and coordinate with internal and external teams.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and CMMS records; generate reports.
