Job summary

The Albany Housing Authority is seeking an Inventory Management Specialist to manage and control the authority’s maintenance materials, tools, and equipment. This role ensures material availability for work orders, maintains accurate inventory records, and supports cost containment across Housing Authority properties.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or related field.
• Basic knowledge of inventory management practices and recordkeeping.

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, organize, and store maintenance supplies and equipment.
• Maintain accurate inventory records including quantities and locations.
• Monitor inventory levels and set min/max stock levels.
• Issue materials to authorized employees and record distribution.
• Conduct routine cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies.
• Prepare purchase requests based on inventory levels and needs.
• Receive deliveries and verify conformance to orders and specs.
• Maintain a clean, safe warehouse and organize tool/equipment room.
• Track and manage tool and equipment assignments and returns.
• Coordinate with maintenance supervisors on material needs for preventive work.
