Job summary

Carpenter Technology Corporation is seeking a Maintenance Intern to work with maintenance, engineering, and production teams in an industrial setting. You will perform troubleshooting, startup, commissioning, and preventive maintenance on plant assets while ensuring safe, reliable, and cost-effective production in a lean manufacturing environment.

Eligible candidates are enrolled in an accredited program pursuing a two-year technical degree in Electrical Maintenance with a minimum GPA of 2.75,

Qualifications

Pursuing at least a two-year technical degree in Electrical Maintenance or equivalent.
Required GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale.
Able to work minimum 20 hours starting Summer 2027; part-time during school and/or full-time in summer.

Responsibilities

Support maintenance, engineering, and production teams with troubleshooting, startup, commissioning, and maintenance of plant assets.
Perform tasks safely and efficiently; maintain clean and safe work environment.
Onboard as a maintenance trainee intern and collaborate with the current maintenance team.
Learn to locate problems by observing mechanical/electrical devices and using instruments, drawings, and diagrams.
Assist in removing/replacing defective parts and dismantling machinery with hoists and tools.
Help control downtime by performing routine preventive maintenance and daily inspections.
