Job summary

Carpenter Technology Corporation is seeking a Maintenance Intern to work hands-on with maintenance craftsmen and apply technical training in an industrial setting. You will engage in machine rebuilding, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, print reading, and equipment installation with safety and upkeep procedures emphasized.

The program provides On-the-Job Training (OJT) and the chance to learn to locate and fix problems on mechanical and electrical systems while supporting plant operations

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in an accredited university/college/trade school pursuing at least a two-year technical degree in Electrical Maintenance or equivalent area.
• Required cumulative GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale.
• Ability to work minimum 20 hours beginning Summer 2027; hours based on school schedule, up to 1,000 hours in 12 months.
• Ability to work in a production-oriented environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, well organized and able to prioritize tasks.

Responsibilities

• Support maintenance, engineering, and production with troubleshooting, startup, commissioning, and maintenance of plant assets.
• Follow On-the-Job Training (OJT) plan with designated team members.
• Safely perform assigned tasks and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
• Learn to locate sources of problems by observing mechanical and electrical devices, listening for issues, and using measuring instruments.
• Assist in controlling downtime by performing routine preventive maintenance and daily equipment inspections.
