Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated Maintenance I - Assistant for a temporary contract opportunity in Wilson, NC. This role supports facility maintenance, repairs, preventive maintenance, vendor coordination, and compliance activities within an industrial or regulated facility environment. This is a great opportunity for a facilities maintenance professional who enjoys hands‑on work, organized work order coordination, and partnering with operations, contractors, and leadership to keep facilities safe, functional, compliant, and audit‑ready. The position offers a steady Monday through Friday schedule, exposure to regulated facility operations, and the chance to build valuable experience in a quality‑focused maintenance environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform and coordinate facility maintenance, repairs, work orders, and corrective actions to support safe and reliable operations.
• Support preventive and corrective maintenance programs to reduce repeat issues and improve facility performance.
• Coordinate external contractors and vendors, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and properly documented.
• Assist with audits, including preparation, on‑site support, documentation, and follow‑up on findings.
• Support facility‑related projects, outages, installations, and impact assessments for operational changes.
• Partner with Operations and leadership to schedule maintenance work, contractor training, and facility service activities.

Compensation and Benefits

• Pay rate: $20.65 per hour.
• Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
• Job type: Temporary contract.
• Location: Wilson, NC.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Support daily facility maintenance, repair coordination, and work order completion.
• Coordinate contractors, vendors, and documentation for facility service programs.
• Assist with preventive maintenance, audits, corrective actions, and compliance‑related activities.
• Partner with Operations to schedule maintenance work and support facility projects.
• At least 1 year of facilities maintenance or repair experience in an industrial or similar facility.
• Knowledge of facility systems, general repairs, and preventive maintenance practices.
• Experience working in a regulated, quality‑driven, or audit‑intensive environment.
• Experience coordinating contractors, vendors, or outside service providers.
• Strong organizational, time‑management, and follow‑up skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining safety, compliance, and documentation standards.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, manufacturing, or another regulated industry.
• Experience using CMMS or work‑order systems such as SAP or Hexagon.
• Experience supporting pest control, elevators, or motorized door programs.
• Audit preparation, documentation, and corrective‑action experience.
• Experience operating industrial lifts or forklifts.
