Job summary

Genesis is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to keep the nursing center and surrounding grounds clean, safe, and attractive. You will perform minor repairs to fixtures, carpentry, and electrical equipment, while also handling supplies and HVAC filter changes.

In this role you may step in for the maintenance supervisor when needed. A high school diploma and basic wiring, plumbing, and carpentry knowledge are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Basic knowledge of wiring, plumbing and carpentry.
• Experience with minor maintenance tasks a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the nursing center and grounds in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
• Make minor repairs to handrails, windows, flooring, walls, ceilings, beds, wheelchairs, and other equipment.
• Change filters on HVAC equipment.
• Carry, lift and stock supplies.
• In the supervisor's absence, assume maintenance supervisor responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Maintenance Assistant completes a variety of tasks to maintain the nursing center and grounds in a clean, safe, and orderly condition along with a pleasing appearance.

• Make minor repairs to handrails, windows, flooring, walls, ceilings, beds, wheelchairs, geri-chairs, electrical equipment, sprinkler systems, generators, emergency lighting, fire alarms and extinguishers
• Changes filters on HVAC equipment
• Carries, lifts and stocks supplies
• Assume Maintenance supervisor's responsibilities in his/her absence

Qualifications

High school degree or equivalent and basic knowledge of wiring, plumbing and carpentry.
