Job summary

Genesis in Maine is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to help keep the nursing center and grounds clean, safe, and orderly, with a pleasant appearance. The role supports a caring environment for residents and assists with routine maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities include minor repairs to various fixtures and systems, changing HVAC filters, and stocking supplies. You may step in for the Maintenance supervisor when absent; a high school diploma and basic wiring, plumbing, and carpentry knowledge

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of wiring, plumbing and carpentry.

Responsibilities

• Make minor repairs to handrails, windows, flooring, walls, ceilings, beds, wheelchairs, geri-chairs, electrical equipment, sprinkler systems, generators, emergency lighting, fire alarms and extinguishers.
• Changes filters on HVAC equipment.
• Carries, lifts and stocks supplies.
• Assume Maintenance supervisor's responsibilities in his/her absence.
