Job summary

Genesis, a long-term care provider in Bloomfield, NM, is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to keep the nursing center clean, safe, and well-maintained for residents and staff.

You will perform minor repairs on handrails, fixtures and equipment, change HVAC filters, carry and stock supplies, and may assume Maintenance supervisor duties in their absence. A high school diploma and basic wiring, plumbing, and carpentry knowledge are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of wiring, plumbing and carpentry.
• Willingness to perform maintenance tasks in a nursing center.

Responsibilities

• Make minor repairs to building fixtures and equipment (handrails, windows, flooring, walls, ceilings, beds, wheelchairs, etc.).
• Change filters on HVAC equipment.
• Carry, lift and stock supplies.
• Assume Maintenance supervisor responsibilities in their absence.

Responsibilities

Maintenance Assistant completes a variety of tasks to maintain the nursing center and grounds in a clean, safe, and orderly condition along with a pleasing appearance.

• Make minor repairs to handrails, windows, flooring, walls, ceilings, beds, wheelchairs, geri-chairs, electrical equipment, sprinkler systems, generators, emergency lighting, fire alarms and extinguishers
• Changes filters on HVAC equipment
• Carries, lifts and stocks supplies
• Assume Maintenance supervisor's responsibilities in his/her absence

Qualifications

High school degree or equivalent and basic knowledge of wiring, plumbing and carpentry.
