Job summary

Genesis HealthCare, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to keep the nursing center clean, safe, and well-presented. You will perform minor repairs on handrails, windows, flooring, walls, ceilings, beds, wheelchairs, and related equipment, and assist with HVAC filter changes.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent and basic knowledge of wiring, plumbing and carpentry; on-site duties include stocking supplies and supporting the maintenance supervisor in their absence.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of wiring, plumbing and carpentry.

Responsibilities

• Make minor repairs to handrails, windows, flooring, walls, ceilings, beds, wheelchairs, geri-chairs, electrical equipment, sprinkler systems, generators, emergency lighting, fire alarms and extinguishers.
• Change filters on HVAC equipment.
• Carry, lift and stock supplies.
• Assume Maintenance supervisor's responsibilities in manager's absence.

Responsibilities

Maintenance Assistant completes a variety of tasks to maintain the nursing center and grounds in a clean, safe, and orderly condition along with a pleasing appearance.

• Make minor repairs to handrails, windows, flooring, walls, ceilings, beds, wheelchairs, geri-chairs, electrical equipment, sprinkler systems, generators, emergency lighting, fire alarms and extinguishers
• Changes filters on HVAC equipment
• Carries, lifts and stocks supplies
• Assume Maintenance supervisor's responsibilities in his/her absence
