Job summary

Genesis is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to care for the nursing center and grounds in Orono, ME. You will perform repairs, carry supplies, and support the Maintenance supervisor as needed, ensuring safety and a tidy, welcoming environment for residents and staff.

The role requires a high school degree or equivalent with basic wiring/plumbing/carpentry knowledge and offers compensation aligned with hourly positions in the region.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent is required.
• Basic knowledge of wiring, plumbing and carpentry is required.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance Assistant completes a variety of tasks to maintain the nursing center and grounds in a clean, safe, and orderly condition along with a pleasing appearance.
• Make minor repairs to handrails, windows, flooring, walls, ceilings, beds, wheelchairs, geri-chairs, electrical equipment, sprinkler systems, generators, emergency lighting, fire alarms and extinguishers
• Changes filters on HVAC equipment
• Carries, lifts and stocks supplies
• Assume Maintenance supervisor's responsibilities in his/her absence

Education

High school degree or equivalent

Basic knowledge of wiring, plumbing and carpentry

Posted Salary Range

USD $20.00 - USD $23.00 /Hr.
