Job summary

Elm Wood Center is hiring a Full Time Maintenance Helper to maintain the nursing center and its surroundings. The role includes performing minor repairs on handrails, windows, flooring and other equipment, changing HVAC filters, carrying supplies, and stepping in for the Maintenance supervisor when needed.

The position supports a collaborative care environment, with opportunities for growth within Genesis HealthCare, Inc., and a stated pay range of $27.00–$29.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic knowledge of wiring, plumbing and carpentry.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the nursing center and grounds in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
• Make minor repairs to handrails, windows, flooring, walls, ceilings, beds, wheelchairs, and electrical equipment.
• Change filters on HVAC equipment.
• Carry, lift and stock supplies.
• Assume Maintenance supervisor's responsibilities in their absence.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance Assistant completes a variety of tasks to maintain the nursing center and grounds in a clean, safe, and orderly condition along with a pleasing appearance.
• * Make minor repairs to handrails, windows, flooring, walls, ceilings, beds, wheelchairs, geri-chairs, electrical equipment, sprinkler systems, generators, emergency lighting, fire alarms and extinguishers
• * Changes filters on HVAC equipment
• * Carries, lifts and stocks supplies
• * Assume Maintenance supervisor's responsibilities in his/her absence

Qualifications

High school degree or equivalent and basic knowledge of wiring, plumbing and carpentry.
