Job summary

Waldorf Center is seeking a full-time Maintenance Helper to join our on-site facilities team in Waldorf, MD. You will help maintain the nursing center and grounds, perform minor repairs, and support a safe, clean environment for residents and staff.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent plus basic wiring, plumbing and carpentry knowledge. A practical, hands-on approach and ability to lift and carry supplies are essential, with opportunities for growth within the organization.

Qualifications

• Basic wiring knowledge.

• Basic carpentry skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the nursing center and grounds in a clean, safe, and orderly condition with a pleasing appearance.
• Make minor repairs to handrails, windows, flooring, walls, ceilings, beds, wheelchairs, electrical equipment, sprinkler systems, generators, emergency lighting, fire alarms and extinguishers.
• Change filters on HVAC equipment.
• Carry, lift, and stock supplies.
• Assist as Maintenance supervisor in their absence.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance Assistant completes a variety of tasks to maintain the nursing center and grounds in a clean, safe, and orderly condition along with a pleasing appearance.
• Make minor repairs to handrails, windows, flooring, walls, ceilings, beds, wheelchairs, geri-chairs, electrical equipment, sprinkler systems, generators, emergency lighting, fire alarms and extinguishers
• Changes filters on HVAC equipment
• Carries, lifts and stocks supplies
• Assume Maintenance supervisor's responsibilities in his/her absence

Qualifications

High school degree or equivalent and basic knowledge of wiring, plumbing and carpentry.
