Job summary

Daimler Truck North America is seeking an engineer to deliver hands-on maintenance support for engine and drivetrain assembly lines. You will help ensure equipment performance, process stability, and adherence to standard work while collaborating with production leadership and operators on improvements.

The role blends production support with project engineering, offering hands-on growth and a clear path toward manufacturing excellence, with weekend rotation and strong cross-functional teamwork.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related field.
  • 1+ years of hands-on experience in manufacturing, maintenance engineering, or related technical environments.
  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings and BOMs or technical documentation.
  • Ability to work weekends occasionally.
  • Attached resume required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide maintenance engineering support for engine, axle, and transmission areas to minimize downtime.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment, tooling, and process issues.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance procedures.
  • Review drawings and BOMs to advise on spare parts strategies.
  • Support product changes and process improvements, including tooling development.
  • Design and refine assembly methods to improve safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Coordinate equipment procurement with vendors and internal teams.
  • Support equipment validation and certification activities.
  • Offer direction to skilled trades and maintenance teams as needed.
  • Serve as a technical resource for production supervisors and operators.
  • Incorporate emerging technologies and best practices into processes.
  • Participate in shared weekend production support rotation.
