Job summary

Daimler Truck North America is seeking skilled trades professionals to maintain and repair production machinery and building systems at our High Point, NC facility. You will diagnose malfunctions, repair or replace components, and perform routine preventive maintenance to keep equipment operating efficiently.

The role requires knowledge of machines and tools, electrical systems, and the ability to read blueprints.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
• Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.
• Knowledge and prediction of physical principles, laws, their interrelationships, and applications to understanding fluid, material, and mechanical, electrical, structures and processes.
• Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
• Repairing machines or systems using the needed tools.
• Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.
• Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
• Installing equipment, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications
• Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job
• The ability to imagine how something will look after it is moved around or when its parts are moved or rearranged.

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production.
• Perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment.
• Analyze test results and machine error messages to diagnose problems.
• Clean, lubricate, adjust, and align parts and machinery.
• Disassemble machinery to remove parts and make repairs.
• Repair or replace defective equipment parts using hand and power tools.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance to keep machines running smoothly.
• Inspect drives, motors, belts, fluids, and filters; follow checklists.
• Use measuring tools and electrical testers to verify operation.
