Job summary

Hensel Phelps in Reston, VA is seeking a Building Engineer to oversee the timely completion of maintenance activities and manage the maintenance team. You will perform predictive and preventative maintenance on electrical, HVAC, boilers, pumps, and control systems, troubleshoot to keep facilities compliant and safe, and coordinate parts, service requests, and communications with clients.

Candidates should have a high school diploma and 1+ year experience in commercial or industrial settings,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year in commercial/industrial building ops management.
• Strong mechanical and carpentry skills.
• Experience with HVAC maintenance and life-safety systems.
• Ability to read blueprints/CAD drawings; excellent communication.

Responsibilities

• Perform predictive and preventative maintenance on facility equipment and building systems.
• Assist with ancillary building systems for peak performance.
• Perform routine maintenance inspections of buildings, grounds, equipment.
• Troubleshoot and upgrade to ensure code compliance.
• Order parts and supplies for maintenance repairs.
• Monitor and respond to service requests in the work order system.
• Provide exceptional customer service with internal and external clients.
