Job summary

Sonesta International Hotels seeks a Maintenance Engineer to care for hotel facilities, systems, and equipment. You’ll perform general repairs, assist with preventative maintenance, and support renovations while ensuring safety and guest comfort across guest rooms and public areas.

The role emphasizes hands-on problem solving, strong attention to detail, and collaboration with Housekeeping, Front Office, F&B, and leadership teams in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Qualifications

• General maintenance and repair across hotel areas including guest rooms and public spaces.
• Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, painting, carpentry, and building upkeep preferred.
• Ability to troubleshoot and complete routine repairs safely and efficiently.
• Experience in hospitality engineering or building operations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and repair work across guest rooms, public spaces, back-of-house areas, and hotel facilities.
• Support preventative maintenance programs for HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, lighting, painting, carpentry, and general building upkeep.
• Respond to guest maintenance requests and operational repair needs quickly and professionally to support guest satisfaction.
• Perform painting, patching, touch-up work, minor plumbing repairs, fixture replacements, and routine engineering tasks as needed.
• Assist with troubleshooting and repairing hotel equipment, appliances, mechanical systems, and operational issues.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization across maintenance shops, storage areas, equipment rooms, and workspaces.
