Job summary

International Paper in Maryland Heights, MO is seeking a Maintenance - Electrical Tech to keep our corrugated processing lines up and running. You will apply mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, work with PLCs, motors and drives, and perform preventive maintenance in a fast-paced, safety-conscious environment.

The role requires flexibility to work all three shifts, including weekends, and willingness to cross-train in other technical areas.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of mechanical and electrical/electronic troubleshooting experience in manufacturing.
• Proven safety, attendance and quality of work records.
• Experience in corrugated manufacturing is a plus.
• Willing to cross train in other technical areas to enhance capabilities.
• Able to work second/third shifts, overtime, holidays and call-ins.

Responsibilities

• Provide maintenance support to the sheet facility using mechanical and electrical skills.
• Troubleshoot and identify root causes to improve machine uptime.
• Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to solve problems.
• Engage in preventative maintenance and ensure safety, quality and productivity.
• Operate computer systems for maintenance processes, stores and work orders.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Title: Maintenance - Electrical Tech

Pay Rate: starting at $34.09/hour

Sign-on Bonus:

• $500 after 30 days
• $500 after 6 months

Retention Bonus:

$500 after 1 year

Additional lump sum after 2 years

Category/Shift:

Hourly Full-Time (Monday-Friday)

Must be flexible to work all three shifts, work 12 hours as needed, Saturdays and Sundays as needed

Physical Location: Maryland Heights, MO

The Job You Will Perform:

• Safely provide maintenance support to our fast-paced Sheet Facility that is equipped with technology ranging from simple to state of the art for the corrugated industry.
• Utilize both excellent mechanical skills and knowledge (pneumatics, hydraulics, bearings, power transmission, lubrication) and electrical/electronic skills and knowledge (PLCs, A/C, D/C motors and drives, schematics) in our continuous process manufacturing environment to achieve machine uptime metrics.
• Critical thinking; predictive and preventative maintenance, finding root cause of failure.
• Work positively with maintenance and operations teams to troubleshoot and solve problems.
• Excellent teamwork, cooperation and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work alone, with a partner, or as a member of a team maintaining safety, quality & productivity.
• Engaged in preventative maintenance processes through facility.
• Willingness to cross train and learn new skills in other technical areas to enhance capabilities.
• Able to work with computer system for maintenance processes, stores and work order

The Skills You Will Bring:

• At least one year of successful mechanical and electrical/electronic troubleshooting and repair experience in a manufacturing facility.
• On-the-job success in safety, attendance and quality of work expected.
• Maintenance experience in corrugated a plus. Strong knowledge of lubrication, hydraulics, welding, pneumatics, electrical and electronics technologies.
• Excellent teamwork, cooperation and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to fully cross train in other technical areas to enhance capabilities.
• Willing and able to work second and third shifts, call-ins, holidays, and overtime as there is a constant demand for overtime in our maintenance department.
• Able to work with computer system for maintenance processes, stores and work orders.
• Provide own tools initially (tools worn out on the job will be replaced)
