Job summary

International Paper in Gilroy, CA is seeking a Maintenance Electrical Technician to support the Bay Sheets facility on all three shifts. The role combines mechanical and electrical/electronic troubleshooting with PLCs, motors and drives in a fast-paced corrugated production environment, focusing on uptime and safety.

You will perform preventative and corrective maintenance, work with operations teams, and cross-train across technical areas while maintaining documentation in the maintenance

Qualifications

• At least one year of successful mechanical and electrical/electronic troubleshooting and repair experience in a manufacturing facility.
• Experience with pneumatics, hydraulics, bearings, power transmission, lubrication, PLCs, A/C/D/C motors and drives.

Responsibilities

• Safely provide maintenance support to a fast-paced sheet facility with varied automation.
• Troubleshoot using mechanical and electrical/electronic knowledge to maximize machine uptime.
• Perform predictive and preventative maintenance and identify root causes of failures.
• Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to solve problems and maintain safety, quality and productivity.
• Engage in preventative maintenance processes and willingness to cross-train across technical areas.

Maintenance Electrical Technician – Bay Sheets

Pay Rate: $47.30 / hr.

Category/Shift

Hourly Full-Time – Must be flexible to work all three shifts, work 12 hours as need, Saturdays and Sundays as needed.

• 1st Shift – 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM
• 2nd Shift – 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM
• 3rd Shift – 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM

The Job You Will Perform:

• Safely provide maintenance support to our fast-paced Sheet Facility that is equipped with technology ranging from simple to state of the art for the corrugated industry.
• Utilize both excellent mechanical skills and knowledge (pneumatics, hydraulics, bearings, power transmission, lubrication) and electrical/electronic skills and knowledge (PLCs, A/C, D/C motors and drives, schematics) in our continuous process manufacturing environment to achieve machine uptime metrics.
• Critical thinking; predictive and preventative maintenance, finding root cause of failure.
• Work positively with maintenance and operations teams to troubleshoot and solve problems.
• Excellent teamwork, cooperation and problem solving skills.
• Ability to work alone, with a partner, or as a member of a team maintaining safety, quality & productivity.
• Engaged in preventative maintenance processes through facility.
• Willingness to cross train and learn new skills in other technical areas to enhance capabilities.
• Able to work with computer system for maintenance processes, stores and work order

The Skills You Will Bring:

• At least one year of successful mechanical and electrical/electronic troubleshooting and repair experience in a manufacturing facility.
• On-the-job success in safety, attendance and quality of work expected.
• Maintenance experience in corrugated a plus. Strong knowledgeable of lubrication, hydraulics, welding, pneumatics, electrical and electronics technologies.
• Excellent teamwork, cooperation and problem solving skills.
• Willingness to fully cross train in other technical areas to enhance capabilities.
• Willing and able to work second and third shifts, call-ins, holidays, and overtime as there is a constant demand for overtime in our maintenance department.
• Able to work with computer system for maintenance processes, stores and work orders.
• Provide own tools initially (tools worn out on the job will be replaced
