Job summary

International Paper is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic-Electrical for its St. Louis Container Facility in Fenton, MO. The role supports plant operations on the 2nd shift (3pm-11pm) with a focus on electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and steam system repairs.

The position offers $38.00/hr and a sign-on bonus of $500 after 90 days plus $500 after six months, with a commitment to safety and teamwork in a large corrugated packaging operation.

Qualifications

• Requires strong electrical and mechanical skills and aptitude.
• Strong troubleshooting skills.
• Written and verbal communications skills.
• Preferred skills in pneumatics, electrical, PLC and hydraulics.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Post High School training preferred.
• Ability to accurately use and read a variety of measuring devices.
• Well-rounded electrical, mechanical, and machine shop skills and experience.
• Ability to learn; and follow instructions, ask questions, and work effectively as a team member.
• Corrugated Industry Maintenance experience preferred.
• Must be willing to work OT including Saturdays and Sundays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Following all safety rules and practices.
• Performing preventive maintenance activities such as lubricating, measuring wear, measuring positions, repositioning components; and observing operations, vibrations, and noise levels.
• Performing emergency/break down maintenance as necessary to support plant operations.
• Accurately using measurement and test equipment.
• Performing electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, steam system, and other repairs and installations as needed.
• Maintain clean and organized work area, and cleaning up work area as part of completing assigned tasks.
• Accurately and completely preparing and maintaining maintenance records and other paperwork.
• Troubleshooting and solving problems.
• Maintaining teamwork with other associates; and
• Performing other duties as assigned by supervision.
