Job summary

Watermark Retirement Communities is seeking a Maintenance Leader to oversee heating, plumbing, environmental and general construction systems within our senior living community. This role requires strategic planning, team leadership, and a proactive approach to repairs, capital projects and daily operations.

You will manage maintenance and housekeeping staff, ensure safety and compliance, and work collaboratively with other departments to deliver exceptional service to residents and families.

Qualifications

• In-depth understanding of repairs and preventative maintenance for heating, plumbing, environmental systems and construction
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to lead a team, prioritize work, and make timely decisions
• Ability to work with a sense of urgency and fiscal responsibility
• Experience overseeing maintenance staff and housekeeping within a community setting
• Comfortable working with basic computer systems and software
• Flexibility to commit to every other weekend schedule

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance associate and housekeeping teams, ensuring cleanliness and safety of the community
• Plan and execute repairs, maintenance, capital items, and project work
• Monitor compliance with safety, building codes, and regulatory requirements
• Coordinate with other departments to support resident services and operations
• Deliver timely decisions to keep systems running efficiently

We are looking for a leader that is a strategic planner, has an excellent ability to manage, supervise and educate their staff and will stay on top of and ahead of repairs, maintenance, capital item replacements, expenses and projects. Job Requirements:

• Possesses the in depth technical understanding involved with repairs and preventative maintenance of heating systems, plumbing, environmental systems and general construction
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to prioritize demands, lead a team and make decisions

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Computer literate with Word, Excel and online systems
• Fiscally responsible
• Oversee, maintenance associate and housekeeping department including the cleanliness of the community
• Every other weekend commitment.
