Job summary

Marvin is seeking a Controls Technician to handle basic tasks on production machinery and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues. You will observe equipment and provide feedback to the Maintenance Supervisor as needed. Hours: Monday-Thursday 5:30AM-3:30PM.

You will work with the Maintenance team to diagnose problems, document repairs, and learn PLC programming basics while ensuring safe, efficient plant operations.

Qualifications

• 2-years experience in a closely related role is required.
• Associate’s degree in a technical-related field is strongly preferred.
• Must be able to obtain forklift and aerial platform licenses.
• Enterprise Asset Management software experience and ability to utilize Microsoft Office Suite programs proficiently.
• Disciplines received within the last 6 months may affect eligibility for this opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Maintenance Supervisor, providing feedback and ideas before any implementation of controls changes (e.g. wiring changes, programming changes, or part changes).
• Observes functioning of equipment to detect hazards, problems and the need for service.
• Learn the skills required to navigate PLC Programming.
• Use the work order system (EAM) to document repairs and PM maintenance throughout the plant.
• Traces problems using electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic components.
• Maintains backups of programs from all electrical devices.
• Proper use of a digital multimeter.
• Works closely with maintenance and assists with troubleshooting electrical problems.
• Concisely and accurately documents set-points and parameters for equipment.

• Traces problems using electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic components.
• Maintains backups of programs from all electrical devices.
