Responsibilities

• Assist maintenance supervisor with feedback on controls changes and wiring or programming changes.
• Observe equipment to detect hazards and issues needing service.
• Troubleshoot equipment using PLC programming software.
• Document repairs and PM maintenance in the work order system (EAM).
• Identify problems related to electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components.
• Maintain backups of programs for electrical devices.
• Work with maintenance to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems.
• Document set-points and parameters for equipment concisely and accurately.

Job Overview

The Controls Technician will assume basic tasks relating to the production machines and will troubleshoot electrical and Mechanical problems on equipment. This position is responsible for observing equipment to provide feedback to the Maintenance Supervisor as needed. You will work Monday through Thursday 3:30pm - 2:00am with overtime on Friday's as scheduled.

Highlights of your role

• Work closely with the Maintenance Supervisor, providing feedback and ideas before any implementation of controls changes. (i.e. wiring changes, programming changes, or part change out such as VFD, servo motors)
• Observes functioning of installed equipment to detect hazards, problems and the need for service.
• Utilize PLC programming software to troubleshoot equipment.
• Work efficiently with work order system (EAM) to document repairs and PM maintenance throughout the plant.
• Traces problems related to electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components.
• Maintains backups of programs from all electrical devices.
• Demonstrate strong ability to use tools such as a digital multi-meter and schematic diagrams.
• Works closely with maintenance to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems.
• Concisely and accurately documents set-points and parameters for equipment.
