Job summary

Marvin is seeking a Controls Technician to perform basic diagnostics and troubleshooting on production equipment. You will collaborate with the Maintenance Supervisor, observe equipment, and use PLC software to resolve electrical and mechanical issues.

The role includes documenting repairs in the plant’s EAM system and ensuring accurate set-points and parameters are recorded. Ideal candidates have at least 2 years in a related role and an associate’s degree in a technical field, with preferred

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in a closely related role.
• Associate’s degree in a technical-related field is strongly preferred.
• Must be able to obtain forklift and aerial platform licenses.
• Experience with Enterprise Asset Management software and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

Job Overview

The Controls Technician will assume basic tasks relating to the production machines and will troubleshoot electrical and Mechanical problems on equipment. This position is responsible for observing equipment to provide feedback to the Maintenance Supervisor as needed. You will work Monday through Thursday 3:30pm - 2:00am with overtime on Friday's as scheduled.

Highlights of your role

• Work closely with the Maintenance Supervisor, providing feedback and ideas before any implementation of controls changes. (i.e. wiring changes, programming changes, or part change out such as VFD, servo motors)
• Observes functioning of installed equipment to detect hazards, problems and the need for service.
• Utilize PLC programming software to troubleshoot equipment.
• Work efficiently with work order system (EAM) to document repairs and PM maintenance throughout the plant.
• Traces problems related to electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components.
• Maintains backups of programs from all electrical devices.
• Demonstrate strong ability to use tools such as a digital multi-meter and schematic diagrams.
• Works closely with maintenance to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems.
• Concisely and accurately documents set-points and parameters for equipment.

• Must be able to obtain forklift and aerial platform licenses
• To perform this job successfully, an individual should have Enterprise Asset Management software experience and ability to utilize Microsoft Office Suite programs proficiently
