Job summary

Marvin in Wisconsin is seeking a Controls Technician to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues on production machines. You will observe equipment and provide feedback to the Maintenance Supervisor.

The shift is Mon-Thu 3:30pm-2:00am with overtime on Fridays as scheduled. Responsibilities include using PLC programming software, documenting repairs and PMs in the EAM system, tracing electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic faults, maintaining program backups, and ensuring accurate

Qualifications

  • 2-years experience in a closely related role is required.
  • Associate’s degree in a technical-related field is strongly preferred.
  • Must be able to obtain forklift and aerial platform licenses.
  • Experience with Enterprise Asset Management software and Microsoft Office Suite proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems on production equipment.
  • Observe equipment to provide feedback to the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Use PLC programming software to troubleshoot equipment.
  • Document repairs and PM maintenance throughout the plant using the EAM system.
  • Trace problems related to electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components.
  • Maintain backups of programs from all electrical devices.
  • Collaborate with maintenance to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues.
  • Document set-points and parameters for equipment.

Job Overview

Highlights of your role
  • Work closely with the Maintenance Supervisor, providing feedback and ideas before any implementation of controls changes. (i.e. wiring changes, programming changes, or part change out such as VFD, servo motors)
  • Observes functioning of installed equipment to detect hazards, problems and the need for service.
  • Utilize PLC programming software to troubleshoot equipment.
  • Work efficiently with work order system (EAM) to document repairs and PM maintenance throughout the plant.
  • Traces problems related to electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components.
  • Maintains backups of programs from all electrical devices.
  • Demonstrate strong ability to use tools such as a digital multi-meter and schematic diagrams.
  • Works closely with maintenance to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems.
  • Concisely and accurately documents set-points and parameters for equipment.
