Job summary

The State of Oklahoma is seeking a Maintenance Specialist within the Department of Corrections' Construction & Maintenance division to oversee construction, renovation and maintenance of state buildings, grounds and equipment. You will supervise staff and contracted crews, coordinate work, and ensure code compliance across projects.

The on-site, full-time role carries a salary of $53,018.00, non-negotiable, with travel as needed; a valid Oklahoma driver's license may be required.

Qualifications

Six years of experience in skilled building trade or maintenance.
Three years supervising employees, inmates, or contractors.
Equivalent combination of education and experience; substitute college hours for experience.

Responsibilities

Inspects buildings, premises, and equipment; determines maintenance, construction, or renovation requirements; estimates costs.
Manages supervisory or contracted staff; budgets; policies; ensures legal compliance; reports.
Evaluates bids; prepares specifications for equipment, supplies, and vehicles.
Prepares cost estimates for future capital projects; reviews plans and construction documents.
Plans and directs movement of heavy construction equipment across the state.
Schedules work crews; tracks time and attendance; performs work as needed.
Completes reports on equipment operations and maintenance activities.
