Job summary

Granite School District is seeking a skilled carpenter in the Maintenance Department to assist Foreman and Leads in completing capital outlay and maintenance projects. You will be involved in rough and finish carpentry, cabinet work, door installations, and a variety of repairs to facilities, always prioritizing safety and quality.

The role requires reading blueprints, using hand and power tools, and coordinating with vendors.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must keep abreast of changing developments in techniques in relevant fields.
  • Must have a current and valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Performs work on Capital Outlay and Maintenance projects as assigned.
  • Rough and finish carpentry including cabinet work.
  • Installs and repairs wood and metal doors.
  • Hangs marker boards, corkboards, banners, plaques, etc.
  • Fabricates metal ramp for relocatable classrooms.
  • Installs and repairs industrial hardware such as door closers, lockers, partitions, lunchroom tables, bleachers, window hardware.
  • Repairs roofs in Granite School District.
  • Maintains a safe, clean work environment.
  • Coordinates with contract service and material vendors on projects.
  • Plans work as assigned and ensures high-quality finished projects.
