Granite Construction Incorporated is seeking a skilled carpenter to read blueprints, plan layouts, and construct structures using wood, plywood, and related materials. You will measure, cut, and assemble components, ensuring accuracy and adherence to building codes.

You will work with hands and power tools to erect frames, install doors and trim, and maintain safety on site. Ability to interpret drawings and adjust plans as needed is essential for this role.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and building plans.
• Apply shop mathematics to estimate material needs and layouts.
• Plan work sequences and select appropriate hand/power tools.
• Maintain precise measurements and accuracy in all tasks.
• Visualize and interpret drawings/diagrams for accurate construction.
• Operate within established standards and adapt to changing tasks.

Responsibilities

• Constructs, erects, installs, and repairs structures using wood, plywood, and wallboard.
• Prepare layout using rulers, framing squares, and calipers.
• Mark cutting lines and assemble materials with appropriate fasteners.
• Verify verticality and alignment with plumb line and level.
• Install doors, frames, trim, and finish hardware.
• Assemble forms and scaffolding for elevated work.
