Job summary

New Vista KY is seeking a dedicated Maintenance professional to support our facility and residents. You will handle repairs across buildings and interiors, maintain grounds, and ensure services align with regulatory standards and organizational policy.

A strong attention to safety and scheduling is essential to minimize disruption to residents. Benefits include paid time off, on-site health services, and employer-sponsored retirement plans.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Able to meet criminal background and drug screening standards.

Responsibilities

• Repair building, furniture, doors, windows, walls, floors, ceilings and roofs.
• Assist in maintaining facility grounds (mowing, weed eating, debris removal).
• Perform drywall installation/repair and painting; renovate structures/ interiors.
• Repair flooring, tile, and carpet; assist in other shops.
• Schedule work to minimize interference with residents; keep parts/tools secured until job completion.
• Learn and follow policies and procedures.

The Maintenance Department functions in a collaborative relationship to provide a controlled environment for the individuals that live here and the staff that works here. This helps ensure continuous individual and organizational performance improvement in support of Oakwood’s facility mission. The Maintenance Department delivers 24 hours a day/ 7 day a week maintenance service that helps the promotion of optimal resident independence and quality of life in an efficient and cost-effective manner. The department supports the continuity of comprehensive, cost effective, quality person-centered services by ensuring a competent workforce and supporting strategies that enhance the quality of the work environment. All services are provided at the highest standard of professional practice, complying with standards by both federal and state regulations and facility policies.

Job duties include but are not limited to, making repairs to building, furniture, doors, windows, walls, floors, ceilings, roofs, assist in maintaining facility grounds, including mowing, weed eating, and picking up debris daily. Will complete drywall installation and repair in addition to painting duties, will renovate structures and interiors, will make repair to flooring, tile, and carpet, assist in other shops and perform other duties deemed necessary by supervisor, schedule work so that it least interferes with the individuals that live here. Be responsible for keeping all parts and tools in possession till work is completed and learn and follow policies and procedures.
