Job summary

New Vista Of The Bluegrass Inc seeks a Maintenance Associate for Hazelwood Center, Louisville, KY. The role supports building repairs, HVAC and plumbing tasks, and general maintenance operations to keep the facility running for residents.

The position is full-time with hours 8:00 am–4:30 pm, Monday–Friday, plus rotating on-call after hours. Must have a High School diploma or GED and prior maintenance or related experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Prior maintenance, construction, plumbing, electrical or HVAC experience preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to use basic tools.

Responsibilities

• Assist in repairs to buildings, furniture, doors, locks, windows and walls.
• Maintain facility grounds including mowing and debris removal.
• Complete drywall installation and painting as needed.
• Move furniture for offices and homes and help in other shops as directed.
• Schedule work to minimize disruption for residents and maintain PM documentation.

Required Education and Experience

• High School degree or GED equivalent
• Previous Maintenance, construction, plumbing, electrical or HVAC experience preferred.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

Full Time: Monday-Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm (must be able to flex hours/work overtime as needed).

Must be able to participate in on call after hours maintenance rotation.

Essential Functions:

Under the supervision of a Maintenance Supervisor the employee will be responsible for

• Assisting in repairs to buildings, furniture, doors, door locks, windows, walls, floors, ceilings, roofs.
• Assist in maintaining facility grounds, including mowing: weed eating, picking up debris on a daily basis, trimming.
• Complete drywall installation and repairs including painting.
• Be responsible for moving of furniture for offices and homes.
• Assist in other shops and perform other duties as deemed necessary by supervisor.
• Schedule work so to least interfere with the individuals that live here.
• Responsible for keeping all parts and tools in possession till work is completed.
• Inspects and checks for the working performance of equipment in Bingham Gardens buildings. Works from work order system.
• Preforms preventative maintenance and completes PM documentation to assigned areas.
• Assists in snow removal as needed.
• Keeps work areas clean, organized.
• Keeps an inventory of tools and supplies.
• Repairs or assists with repairs to HVAC, plumbing, and electrical.
• Will be on call for a week at a time, on a rotating basis.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must be able to lift, bend, walk and stand for extended periods of time with no restrictions. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.

Travel

This position requires less than 15% travel.
