Job summary

Apartment Management Consultants (AMC) is seeking a Maintenance Assistant Manager to support the maintenance manager in overseeing daily maintenance tasks, training of staff, and ensuring safety compliance. The role includes on-call responsibilities and snow removal as part of property upkeep.

You will coordinate with vendors, manage inventories, and ensure OSHA standards are met while maintaining high service levels for residents and units.

Qualifications

• Experience in property maintenance/handyman
• Knowledge in HVAC, plumbing, and electrical
• Self-motivated with attention to detail
• Ability to operate various hand tools including power tools
• Effective communication skills

Responsibilities

• Perform and schedule daily maintenance tasks including preparing vacant units for occupancy and preventative maintenance
• Assist in the training of service, housekeeping/custodial, or grounds personnel
• Clean and maintain work areas, tools, and equipment
• Identify process improvements to maintenance methods
• Maintain MSDS and replacement logs
• Report personnel performance concerns to leadership
• Assist in inventory ordering and coordination with vendors
• Ensure OSHA standards and company safety policies are followed at all times
• Handle lock-outs due to evictions and respond to service requests within 24 hours
• Be available to work on an on-call basis
• Report unusual or extraordinary circumstances regarding the property or residents
• Remove snow and ice as necessary
• Ensure necessary tools are on hand
