Guardian Management - Maintenance Assistant

Guardian Management has a need for a Full-Time Maintenance Assistant to join our team at Park Avenue West! Park Avenue West is a conventional apartment community in Portland, OR, with 202 units.

We are seeking a motivated individual to support in cleaning and minor property maintenance to maintain curb appeal and overall property appearance. The primary role involves assisting with cleaning, minor repairs, and processing work orders under the guidance of the Community Manager and Maintenance Supervisor. This entry-level position offers training and opportunities for career growth in property maintenance.

Schedule and Compensation

Schedule: 40 hours/week, Sunday - Thursday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Compensation: $22/hr + benefits

Qualifications and Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Basic knowledge of cleaning techniques and products
• Basic understanding of building and grounds maintenance
• Ability to lift at least 25 lbs
• Attention to detail and organizational skills
• Effective communication in English, both written and verbal
• Willingness to complete training and attend sessions
• Basic computer literacy

Preferred qualifications include previous janitorial or light maintenance experience, ability to lift 50 lbs, and comfort working on ladders at heights up to 15 feet.

Essential Functions

• Represent Guardian professionally
• Support property upkeep, including cleaning vacant units and grounds maintenance
• Respond to service requests and complete work orders promptly
• Maintain neatness of model units and common areas
• Participate in on-call duties if required
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members
• Follow confidentiality guidelines
• Accurately record work hours and assist in team collaboration
• Perform other duties as assigned
