Job summary

Heritage Woods of Plainfield in Plainfield, IL seeks a Maintenance Assistant on a part-time basis. You will oversee the community safety program and maintain a secure resident home in compliance with policy and regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience with HVAC and/or electrical systems.
• Senior living experience preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversees community safety program and maintains a secure resident home in line with policy.
• Manages preventative maintenance for community equipment, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
• Completes all maintenance requests, including scheduled and emergency tasks.
• Performs exterior maintenance duties.
• Conducts fire and disaster drills with residents and staff.
• Engages residents with a compassionate and dignified approach.

Responsibilities

• Under the direct supervision of the Maintenance Director, our Maintenance Assistant oversees the Community safety program and maintains a secure resident home and working environment in compliance with policy and regulations
• Sustains a preventative maintenance program to maintain proper functioning of all Community equipment, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems
• Completes all maintenance requests, both scheduled and emergency, quickly and efficiently
• Performs exterior maintenance duties
• Performs fire and disaster drill activities with residents and team members
• Engages with residents in a compassionate and impactful manner, cultivating a warm and supportive environment where the values of love, compassion, and dignity are reflected in every interaction

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED equivalent required
• Experience in HVAC systems and/or electrical required
• Prior Senior living experience desired
• Demonstrates exceptional interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
