Description
- Ensure that maintenance schedules are followed as outlined for the respective shift or area.
- Report all accidents/incidents to your supervisor, regardless of severity, on the shift in which they occur.
- Coordinate daily maintenance services with nursing staff when performing routine assignments in resident living areas.
- Perform related duties as directed by your supervisor, department director, or administrator.
- Maintain resident confidentiality, especially regarding protected health information, and report any violations promptly.
- Attend departmental and staff meetings as scheduled.
- Follow daily work assignments and file complaints/grievances with your supervisor.
- Adhere to maintenance schedules and policies, performing routine maintenance on grounds, facility, and equipment, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical tasks.
- Perform cleaning duties such as window and screen cleaning, replacing light bulbs, and maintaining heating/cooling units.
- Handle unscheduled maintenance tasks and ensure replenishment of supplies.
- Report equipment malfunctions promptly and follow safety precautions during all tasks.
- Assist with lifting heavy objects and ensure equipment is cleaned and stored properly after use.
- Perform any additional duties as assigned, including moving resident possessions when necessary.
- This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
- Qualifications include at least a 10th-grade education, ability to make independent decisions, follow instructions, and communicate effectively with staff and residents.
- Must possess basic mathematical skills, reasoning ability to solve practical problems, and physical capability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Work environment includes low to moderate noise levels, with reasonable accommodations available for disabilities.
