Pay: $16.51 - $19.35 / hour
Overview
Maintenance team members assist with ensuring the health and well-being of our residents by providing maintenance support. This position is responsible for ensuring resident and staff safety through repairs to buildings and furnishings, as well as grounds maintenance including lawn care and snow/ice removal.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions
- Assist with and perform duties related to electricity, plumbing, painting, carpentry (including furniture refinishing or repair); mechanics (including equipment and mechanical systems); heating, cooling, and water systems (excluding services under outside contractor contracts).
- Assist with and perform grounds maintenance, parking lots, and driveways (including snow/ice removal, excluding contracted services).
- Handle incoming and outgoing freight; lift and move heavy furniture and equipment.
- Respect residents' rights and treat all residents with courtesy, respect, and kindness.
- Drive company vehicle as needed/requested.
- Arrive on time, work as scheduled, and be responsible for own transportation.
- Maintain confidentiality and privacy of resident information.
- Attend facility and staff meetings, and participate in required or preferred inservices.
- Generate ideas to improve quality of care or increase productivity and satisfaction.
- Perform duties safely, adhering to safety rules and standards to ensure safety of staff, residents, and visitors.
- Understand and reference all policies and procedures.
- Provide high-quality customer service to residents, staff, and visitors.
- Respond flexibly to changing situations and reprioritize work as necessary.
- Take calls during off-hours (evenings and weekends) as directed and adjust schedule accordingly.
- Use electronic timekeeping systems as directed.
- Follow dress code, including wearing a name tag at all times.
- Follow policies regarding electronic devices and technology.

- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.

Qualifications
- Minimum 18 years of age
- At least one (1) year of related experience in maintenance, carpentry, contracting, etc.
- Valid driver’s license
- Participation in on-call program, including off-hours work
- Experience with equipment such as small hand tools, electric tools, lawn mowers, snowblowers, etc.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Genuine concern for the elderly; dependable, patient, and compassionate attitude
This position involves regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and supervisors. To ensure a safe environment and effective communication, the employee must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English at an intermediate or higher level.
