Job summary

The Pennant Group, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to join our facilities team in servicing resident living environments.

The role focuses on preventative maintenance, minor repairs, and prompt response to maintenance requests, ensuring safe and functional spaces for residents and staff. Responsibilities include basic plumbing, HVAC, electrical tasks and coordinating with outside vendors as needed, with adherence to safety and infection control measures where applicable.

Qualifications

  • Experience with building maintenance and plant systems.
  • Knowledge of plumbing, HVAC, electrical wiring and basic mechanical systems.
  • Ability to perform preventative maintenance and troubleshoot issues.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Safe work practices and adherence to safety protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Perform ongoing preventative maintenance on building and grounds.
  • Respond to maintenance requests and emergencies as needed.
  • Troubleshoot plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and mechanical problems.
  • Coordinate with outside vendors for complex repairs when required.

Our McFarland Villa Assised Living, Madison Pointe Senior Living and Stoughton Meadows Senior Living is currently seeking a Maintenance Assistant to join our team of dedicated professionals who want to make a difference in the lives of our residents, their families and our community. About the Opportunity

The Maintenance Assistant provides ongoing preventative maintenance and resident assistance, building and grounds maintenance, troubleshooting maintenance problems and various related tasks as assigned. Performs most tasks independently with occasional assistance of outside vendor. Is available to respond to maintenance emergencies that may arise outside of regular working hours.

  • Practices good safety awareness and follows safety procedures, including infection control measures where applicable.
  • Ability to be self-supervising and self-motivating.
  • Able to set priorities and complete tasks in a timely manner.
  • Must demonstrate a positive, courteous and respectful attitude to residents, families, staff and visitors.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Prior experience in building maintenance.
  • Must possess knowledge of the following: Plumbing, including but not limited to design/mechanics of commodes, plumbing fixtures, drains, discharge lines, hot water heaters, dishwashers, ice machines, etc.
  • HVAC, including but not limited to general principles of HVAC and heat pump operation/mechanics, and refrigeration.
  • Electricity, including but not limited to wiring, voltage, amperage.
  • Mechanics, including but not limited to design/operation of engines.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license; must have clean driving record with no major violations.
