About the Opportunity

Our senior living community is currently seeking a Maintenance Assistant to join our team of dedicated professionals who want to make a difference in the lives of our residents, their families, and our community. Responsibilities

The Maintenance Assistant provides ongoing preventative maintenance and resident assistance, building and grounds maintenance, troubleshooting maintenance problems, and various related tasks as assigned. Performs most tasks independently with occasional assistance from outside vendors and is available to respond to maintenance emergencies that may arise outside of regular working hours.

Practices good safety awareness and follows safety procedures, including infection control measures where applicable; is self‑supervising and self‑motivating; sets priorities and completes tasks in a timely manner; and demonstrates a positive, courteous and respectful attitude to residents, families, staff and visitors.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Prior experience in building maintenance.
  • Knowledge of plumbing: design/mechanics of commodes, plumbing fixtures, drains, discharge lines, hot water heaters, dishwashers, ice machines, etc.
  • Knowledge of HVAC: general principles of HVAC and heat‑pump operation/mechanics, and refrigeration.
  • Knowledge of electricity: wiring, voltage, amperage.
  • Knowledge of mechanics: design/operation of engines.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and no major violations.
