About the Opportunity

The Maintenance Assistant provides ongoing preventative maintenance and resident assistance, building and grounds maintenance, troubleshooting maintenance problems, and various related tasks as assigned. The role performs most tasks independently with occasional assistance from outside vendors and is available to respond to maintenance emergencies that may arise outside of regular working hours.

• Practices good safety awareness and follows safety procedures, including infection control measures where applicable.
• Is self-supervising and self-motivating.
• Able to set priorities and complete tasks in a timely manner.
• Demonstrates a positive, courteous, and respectful attitude toward residents, families, staff, and visitors.

Minimum Qualifications

• Prior experience in building maintenance.
• Knowledge of plumbing (including but not limited to design/mechanics of commodes, plumbing fixtures, drains, discharge lines, hot water heaters, dishwashers, ice machines, etc.), HVAC (general principles of HVAC and heat pump operation/mechanics, and refrigeration), electricity (wiring, voltage, amperage), and mechanics (design/operation of engines).
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and no major violations.
• Pay Rate: $19.00–$21.00.
