Description

1. Ensure that maintenance schedules are followed as outlined for the respective shift or area.
2. Report all accidents/incidents to your supervisor, regardless of severity, on the shift they occur.
3. Coordinate daily maintenance services with nursing staff when performing routine tasks in resident areas.
4. Perform other duties as directed by your supervisor, department director, or administrator.
5. Maintain resident confidentiality by not disclosing protected health information and report any violations promptly.
6. Attend departmental and staff meetings as scheduled or called.
7. Follow work assignments and file complaints or grievances with your supervisor.
8. Follow maintenance schedules and policies, performing routine maintenance on grounds, facility, and equipment, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical tasks.
9. Perform cleaning duties such as window and screen cleaning, replacing bulbs, and general cleaning as directed.
10. Service heating and cooling units per manufacturer instructions and policies.
11. Handle unscheduled maintenance tasks as needed and ensure replenishment of supplies.
12. Ensure the facility and equipment are maintained for resident comfort and safety.
13. Report equipment malfunctions promptly and adhere to safety precautions when using tools and equipment.
14. Assist with lifting heavy objects and ensure equipment is cleaned and stored properly after use.
15. Maintain confidentiality of all resident information, reporting any unauthorized disclosures.
16. Inform residents about moving their personal possessions when necessary.

Supervisory Requirements

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

1. Minimum 10th-grade education.
2. Ability to make independent decisions, follow instructions, and accept constructive criticism.
3. Effective communication skills with personnel, residents, families, and the public.
4. Ability to maintain the care and appearance of work areas and seek new maintenance methods.
5. Basic mathematical skills involving fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
6. Problem-solving skills and ability to interpret various instructions.

Physical Demands

Must occasionally lift/move up to 25 pounds, sit, stand, walk, and communicate effectively. May assist in evacuations.

Work Environment

Work typically occurs in a low to moderate noise environment, with accommodations available for disabilities.
