Job summary

Laurel Lakes Rehab and Wellness Center is seeking a Maintenance Assistant on a full-time day shift to keep the facility safe, clean, and well‑maintained. The role involves grounds and building upkeep, routine servicing, and repairs across plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC systems, with a focus on efficiency and safety.

A high school diploma or GED is required, and prior healthcare maintenance or handyman experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Healthcare maintenance experience is preferred.
• Experience with handyman work is preferred.
• Electrical and painting experience is preferred.
• Must pass post-offer background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the Facility in good repair and a safe, clean environment.
• Follow maintenance schedule and policies set by supervisor.
• Perform routine maintenance on grounds, driveways, and facility equipment.
• Repair plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical items as directed.
• Replace bulbs and maintain lighting and safety systems.
• Service heating and cooling units per manufacturer guidance.
• Complete unscheduled maintenance tasks as needed.
• Minimize waste and protect equipment and supplies.

Laurel Lakes Rehab and Wellness Center is currently hiring for a Full Time Maintenance Assistant!The primary purpose of your position is to maintain the grounds, facility, and equipment, in a safe and efficient manner. Responsibilities of the Maintenance Assistant:

• Maintain the Facility in good repair, ensuring a safe, clean, and orderly environment.
• Receive and follow maintenance schedule or instructions from your supervisor and as outlined in our established maintenance policies and procedures.
• Perform routine maintenance on grounds, parking areas, driveways, etc., by cutting, trimming, policing, sweeping, etc., as directed.
• Perform routine maintenance and repair on the Facility and equipment to include plumbing, plastering, electrical, carpentry, mechanical, etc., as directed, in accordance with established procedures.
• Clean windows and screens, as directed.
• Replace burned out light bulbs, to include, exit lights, overhead lights, fluorescent lights, room call lights, etc., and perform cleaning duties, wherever necessary.
• Service heating and cooling units and systems, as specified by the manufacturer, and in compliance with established policies and procedures.
• Perform unscheduled maintenance tasks as directed.
• Must have the ability to minimize waste of supplies, misuse of equipment, etc.

Requirements of the Maintenance Assistant:

• A minimum of a high school education or high school equivalency diploma.
• Previous Healthcare Maintenance experience preferred.
• Experience with "handyman" work is preferred.
• Experience with electrical and painting also preferred
• Must successfully complete a post offer, pre-employment criminal background check and physical / drug screen.
