Job summary

Tutera Senior Living & Health Care is seeking a part-time Maintenance Assistant for Meadowood Retirement Community in Bloomington, Indiana. The role covers day shift, about 25 hours per week, with a focus on keeping the facility sanitary, safe, and well-maintained.

You will support the maintenance team in electrical, plumbing, HVAC systems and housekeeping tasks, ensuring regulatory compliance and a collaborative, resident-focused environment. Prior LTC maintenance experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior maintenance experience in LTC/SNF/AL/MC setting preferred.
• Knowledge of laundry, housekeeping and maintenance procedures.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance tasks to ensure sanitary, attractive, and safe environment.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Assist in maintaining electrical, plumbing, ventilation, heating, and cooling systems.

What Will You Do in This Role?

As a Maintenance Assistant, you will perform the activities of the maintenance department to ensure environmental compliance in accordance with Federal, State and Local ordinance, regulations and building codes. You will assist in the maintenance of the facility to ensure a sanitary, attractive, and orderly condition; in good repair, free from hazards such as those caused by electrical, plumbing, ventilation, heating, and cooling systems.

Do You Have What It Takes?

• A fire and passion for working with seniors
• A flexible, fun, and energetic personality
• High school diploma, or equivalent, preferred
• Prior experience in maintenance in a LTC/SNF/AL/MC setting highly preferred
• Prior maintenance experience required
• Must possess knowledge of commercial laundry, housekeeping and maintenance procedures
• Professional image in both appearance and behavior
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
