Job summary

Robotic Technologies Automation is seeking a skilled mainframe developer to analyze requirements and translate them into detailed technical specifications for claims processing workflows. You will design, develop, test, and debug mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, and CICS, while creating documentation to support development.

You will mentor offshore leads, coordinate daily work with onsite teams, review code, and assist in UAT and production deployments.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Mainframe COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM and CICS.
• Experience with Agile development methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical and debugging skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Ability to mentor and coordinate onsite/offshore teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform requirement analysis and engineering tasks for the ACAS domain converting business needs into detailed specifications.
• Design, develop, test, and debug mainframe applications (COBOL, JCL, VSAM, DB2, CICS).
• Create technical documentation to support mainframe development.
• Write and maintain code for existing applications adhering to quality standards.
• Collaborate with BAs, QA, and PMs to ensure successful project delivery.
• Mentor offsite leads and coordinate activities with offshore teams.
• Serve as primary contact for technical and functional issues.
• Optimize mainframe programs for performance and efficiency.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues; participate in code reviews.
• Support UAT and production deployments.
• Knowledge of IBM mainframe tools (z/OS, ISPF, TSO, File-aid, SCM) is required.
• Understand mainframe code migration from development to production with promotions and backout strategies.
• Healthcare claims experience is crucial.
