Job summary

Machine Learning Technologies, LLC is seeking a seasoned Mainframe Engineer to design, develop, and optimize critical COBOL-based systems supporting healthcare claims workflows. You will collaborate with analysts, QA, and PMs, mentoring offshore teams and guiding code reviews to ensure high quality.

Responsibilities include debugging, performance tuning, documentation, and coordinating deployments from development to production in an Agile environment.

Qualifications

Proficiency in Mainframe COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM and CICS.
In-depth knowledge of z/OS, ISPF, TSO, File-aid and SCM.
Healthcare claims processing domain experience.
Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
Ability to work independently and in a team.
Experience with Agile development methodologies.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and debug mainframe applications (COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, CICS).
Optimize mainframe programs for performance and efficiency.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues and bugs.
Review code and participate in CI/CD and UAT activities.
Create and maintain technical documentation for mainframe development.
Coordinate daily activities between onsite and offshore teams.
Provide technical guidance to offsite leads/developers.
Serve as primary contact for technical and functional issues.
