Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled z/OS Performance Monitoring Specialist to support a critical migration project transitioning from CA NetMaster to the IBM OMEGAMON Network Monitoring suite. This role plays a vital part in enhancing our enterprise system monitoring capabilities and ensuring optimal performance of our mainframe infrastructure. The specialist will work within the z/OS systems team, contributing to the modernization and integration of performance tools, ensuring high availability, efficiency, and actionable insight across mainframe environments.

Responsibilities:

1. Lead the migration of network monitoring from CA NetMaster to IBM OMEGAMON Network solutions.
2. Configure, maintain, and optimize IBM OMEGAMON monitoring tools across various mainframe components.
3. Collaborate with systems programmers, network engineers, and application support teams to define and implement monitoring best practices.
4. Integrate monitoring tools with enterprise management systems for centralized visibility.
5. Develop and maintain documentation for tool configurations, migration procedures, and operational standards.
6. Provide training and knowledge transfer to internal teams regarding OMEGAMON usage and monitoring strategies.
7. Monitor performance trends and proactively identify system issues, recommending enhancements.

Minimum Requirements:

1. Migration from CA NetMaster to OMEGAMON Network – Advanced expertise in managing end-to-end migration, including planning, execution, validation, and support.
2. OMEGAMON Monitor for z/OS – Proficiency in system-level performance monitoring and threshold management.
3. IBM Z OMEGAMON for CICS – Intermediate knowledge of monitoring CICS transactions and region performance.
