Job summary

Cornerstone Government Affairs is seeking Maine State Government Affairs interns to assist our Maine Capitol team during the 2027 Legislative Session. Interns will gain hands-on experience in state lobbying and learn about key stakeholders and issues important to Maine.

Dates: January 6, 2027 through June 30, 2027 (flexible). Required Hours: 20–25 hours per week (part-time). Location: Hybrid (in-person & remote). Pay: $18.40 per hour.

Qualifications

• Third-year level student or higher in a bachelor's degree program or graduate studies.

Responsibilities

• Attend committee hearings/study committees and take detailed notes on legislation relevant to the team.
• Assist with creation and distribution of electronic and print information.
• Prepare state and local election lists of elected officials and candidates.
• Track and prepare general election report for distribution.
• Assist with organizational needs such as delegation lists, etc.
