Job summary

Motlow seeks a Legislative Intern to support the Government & Public Relations team during Tennessee's legislative session. The intern will monitor committees, track legislation, and assist with meetings and campus visits involving lawmakers and stakeholders.

The paid, hybrid internship blends in-office and remote work with occasional assignments at other locations, with extended hours during the session as needed. The program concludes two weeks after adjournment.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in, or a recent graduate of, a college or university.
• Interest in state government and higher education issues.
• Flexibility to work odd and/or extended hours during the legislative session.
• Reliable transportation to/from TBR System Office, Capitol Complex, and other locations.

Responsibilities

• Track legislation and monitor committee meetings.
• Provide administrative support, research, and meeting prep.
• Coordinate Capitol Hill visits and TBR Day on the Hill.
• Support events such as SOAR and other External Affairs activities.
• Adapt to changing schedules during the legislative session.
