Job summary

Cornerstone Government Affairs in Austin, TX, is seeking interns to assist the State Government Affairs team during the 2027 Legislative Session.

Dates: January 11, 2027, through June 3, 2027 (flexible start/end). Hours: 35–40 per week, in-person at the Austin office, paid $18.40 per hour. Requirements: third-year bachelor's student or higher, or graduate studies, with strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Third-year level student or higher in a bachelor's degree program; or graduate studies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, strong organizational skills, high attention to detail.
• Interest in politics and legislative process; strong relationship-building and proactive professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Attend committee hearings and study committees and take detailed notes on relevant legislation.
• Assist with creation and distribution of electronic and print information.
• Prepare state and local election lists of elected officials and candidates.
• Track and prepare general election report for distribution.
• Assist with organizational needs such as delegation lists, etc.
